Introduction
The Grafana table visualization can be configured to generate DataSet search queries whenever a row is clicked by using Grafana's built in "Data Links" function. This simplifies the process of reviewing data when working with colleagues.
Please note that this guide is not intended to be solution for all use cases. Rather, it was written to showcase the versatility of the DataSet platform.
Configuration
The following URLs will be used, please select the one which corresponds to where your DataSet account is located:

The search parameter(s) you wish to use will be input after the filter
parameter
- Set up a panel within your dashboard with a functioning query. Be sure that the "Table" visualization is used
- Scroll down the panel options frame to the "Data links" section. Click "Add Link"
- Enter a title for your Data Link, and add the field(s) you wish to include in the search query that will be generated.
Tip 1: Typing$
in the URL field will display a dropdown list of available fields that can be used
Tip 2: Be sure to include escaped characters (in this example we've escaped=
and'
as they occur within thefilter
parameter)
Click "Save" to store your changes to the Data Link and "Apply" on the options dialog to Store your changes to the associated dashboard panel - Clicking on a row will now initiate a DataSet search for the associated field
Note: You will need to be logged in to DataSet for the Data Link to reach the UI
