Posting Notes on a Dashboard Using Markdown

Note: to use this feature you must have the New UI enabled.

You can make notes for yourself and others on a dashboard by using the Markdown component. This can be useful for clarifying the scope of the dashboard, providing links to playbooks, or advice on interpreting the graphs.

Here are the steps to add a Markdown component:

1. Click the "+" at the top right of the dashboard and select "Markdown"

2. In the edit panel which appears, enter a title, along with the rest of the message you wish to display on the dashboard. There is a handy markdown reference link at the bottom. 

3. After you hit OK, the new panel will appear on the dashboard. Click and drag near the top of the markdown component to move it around. Click and drag the right side, bottom side, or bottom right corner to resize.
