Introduction
The DataSet UI has a number of built-in enhancements for analyzing K8s logs. These features make it easier for you and your team to monitor platform health and diagnose issues when they occur.
As a sidenote, the following dashboards and capabilities are automatically activated when our platform detects K8s log data. In most cases, this occurs several minutes after a K8s-based Scalyr Agent instance is launched.
K8s Dashboards
The following dashboards provide insight into the status of K8s clusters running on your platform
Metrics
- K8s pod metric
- Display expanded graph in Search (note: must select plot, if applicable)
- Options Menu (Edit graph dialog, Download as PNG, Edit graph JSON, Clone, Delete)

Log Volume
This dashboard includes graphs for the log volume that is created by active hosts and K8s clusters.

Log Overview
This page shows each K8s cluster and the controllers that are associated with it. It also displays active hosts with their associated log files (not shown).

Dynamic Dropdowns
These dynamic dropdowns are either used for the serverHost and logfile, or the K8s cluster and deployment. If the K8s cluster is selected, the second dropdown will be populated with the associated deployments.
